Last week I visited Ox & Bone in Huddersfield for my friend Tasha’s birthday. Despite the major hype, I wasn’t overly blown away. That said, it’s not an awful spot. The cocktails were quite delightful, but the bill at the end was a bit of a shock for what we’d had. Today is our third and final day in Germany. After spending the last two days drinking copious amounts of alcohol, eating various German dishes (including Mett – raw pork mince on toast for breakfast) and exploring the local towns and cities, today is dedicated to chilling out.
How come in England the only tales you hear of Amsterdam are of drugs, drink and prostitutes? I have just spent six glorious hours in the city of my dreams and can’t believe the awful hype. Why would anyone go to Amsterdam for marijuana when the magic of the city is all the drug you need?!
I am so excited about this. I can’t wait to share it with you. I have been doing a lot of reading lately about different flavour combinations and flavour influences from different countries. I love trying cuisines from all over the world but South American food is one of my all-time favourites.
We took a delightful drive to Ripon today…or not so delightful it turns out thanks to the never ending 50mph limits on the M1.
Nevertheless we were in for a treat when we arrived at Yorkshire Yurts’ wedding fair. As you know we’re doing the DIY wedding thing, and as we’re both at our most comfortable with our toes in the grass, we’re going for an outdoor wedding.
